Local Heroes is looking for an experienced independent working cook / chef to join our team for a long-term catering project.
The catering project: Cooking 3 meals a day 7 days a week for middle eastern refugees. The refugees are currently staying in a hostel at Scheveningen till the end of December. 50% of the refugees are under 18 years old. Your responsibilities will include preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner options that are healthy, varied, and tasty while following Halal guidelines. You will be responsible for all hygiene requirements and ensure that the kitchen is left clean and tidy after each meal. If you want you can receive cooking help from the refugees.
As our ideal candidate, you are someone who is seeking stability in your employment and has professional cooking experience in the middle eastern Arabic or African kitchen. You must possess the creativity to create different dishes depending on what’s in stock and cook from your heart. You are someone who is passionate about cooking and enjoys working in a stress-free environment.
You:
- Speak either Dutch or English fluently, and/or Frans/Arabic would be a plus.
- Always keep your promises and are a man/woman of your word.
- Can create creative dishes, Order the right quantity of food consistently, creative cooking (what’s in the fridge is your specialty.)
