As a Self-Employed Breakfast Cook (ZWK Zelfstandig Werkend Kok), you will be the first kitchen force to arrive. You’ll turn every breakfast into a culinary masterpiece, ensuring your mise en place for the next day is always meticulously organized.
The Role
As a ZWK Breakfast Cook, you’ll become part of a rapidly growing conference center and hotel in Amsterdam, specializing in high-quality meetings and international conferences with up to 1200 participants. You’ll be responsible for the daily breakfast buffet at this center, working alongside a professional team.

The ideal candidate
- Has proven, multi-year work experience in a professional kitchen as an independent cook, assistant cook, or breakfast cook.
- Is a chef at heart.
- Can work in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
- Sets an example for the team with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
- Is resilient under pressure and can meet deadlines.
- Is an early riser, as work begins from 05:00 to 05:30 and ends at 13:00-13:30.
- Can handle physical demands.
- Presents themselves professionally and is easy to work with.
- Proficient in Dutch and/or English.
- Holds culinary qualifications.

Salary/Rate
For a full-time position, the salary ranges from 2,450 to 2,850 euros per month, with a six-month contract and the possibility of a permanent contract. For self-employed individuals (ZZP), the hourly rate varies from 26.75 to 31.50 euros, depending on experience and professionalism. (Note that ZZP individuals receive a placement agreement that provides assurance of hours for up to one to six weeks in advance!)
